A brand new production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, is currently on tour across North America! The spirited, romantic and beloved musical story of Maria and the von Trapp Family will once again thrill audiences with its Tony®, Grammy® and Academy Award® winning Best Score, including “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “Edelweiss” and the title song.

 THE SOUND OF MUSIC features music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, suggested by “The Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Augusta Trapp.

The Politics of The Sound of Music

The Anschluss and the Nazi occupation of Austria play a large part in the plot of The Sound of Music. Dr. Fred Gordon, Department Chair of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Administration at CSU will give a brief talk on the political climate in Austria in 1938 that led to the unification of Austria and Germany and provides the background for the escape of the von Trapp Family.
