The following rental rates for Bill Heard Theatre are minimum rental rates. User shall pay the minimum rental rate or 10% of gross ticket sales (8% for Non-Profit Groups), minus applicable sales tax, whichever is greater.

*Non-profit users must provide a copy of their IRS 501(c)(3) designation letter with deposit.
** Commercial flat rental rates of up to $7,000 can result if the possibility of a percentage of gross ticket sales is nonexistent.
There will be theatrical staffing paid for by the user for dinner events as well as theatrical events.

Bill Heard Theatre: Differentials (All Users as applicable)

  • Add $150/hour for each hour exceeding rental fee times
  • Add $500 for cleaning per event day for theatre events, $250 day for dinner events

Bill Heard Theatre rentals include: (All Users are provided in rental)

  • Use of stage, sound system, rigging, lighting, and other technical equipment (as established in facility) – request information for these default conditions
  • Heat and air conditioning and water as installed on premises

Bill Heard Theatre rentals do NOT include (All Users):

  • Technical labor ($16.50 per hour per technician)
  • Event Security, House Managers, Head Ushers (determined by management)
  • Police and Fire as required
  • Liability insurance ($2 million combined single limit required by all users)
  • Music license fees (ASCAP, BMI, SESAC, etc.)
  • Sales tax (7% of total fees)
  • Custodial fee ($500 flat rate, all rentals)
  • Catering deposit for cleaning ($250/refundable)
  • Performance programs
  • Tables, linen, loose chairs
  • Audio and visual recording fees
  • Equipment rental fees
  • Box Office service fees (exclusive ticketing provider: Tickets.com)
    o $1.50 Per Ticket - Facility Fee
    o 4% Fee for Credit Card Sales
    o 3% Box Office Commission
  • Merchandise Sales Percentage (25% if RiverCenter provides seller; 15% if Artist supplies seller)

Legacy Hall

Date Availability: Legacy Hall is the primary teaching facility for the CSU Schwob School of Music and practice facility for the Jordan Organ.

Legacy Hall is equipped with a standard lighting system for music performances. Theatre sets are not permitted. No construction, painting, chemical or pyrotechnic effects will be permitted at any time in Legacy Hall. All special requests for staging and/or lighting are subject to evaluation and approval by RiverCenter management.

  • Add $100 per hour for each hour exceeding rental fee times
  • Add $250 for cleaning per event day

Legacy Hall rentals include: (All users are provided in rental)

  • Use of stage, recital lighting, and other technical equipment (as established in facility)
  • Heat, air conditioning and water as installed on premises
  • Services of House Manager and volunteer ushers (RiverCenter provides ushers for all events)
  • Use of Legacy Hall green room and dressing rooms

Legacy Hall rentals do NOT include: (All users must arrange through RiverCenter)

  • Technical labor (such as stagehands, light operator, sound operator, etc.)
  • Event security staff (determined by management)
  • Optional lecture podium and microphones
  • Performance chairs and music stands
  • Liability insurance (required by all users)
  • Music license fees
  • Sales tax
  • Head usher (required for all ticketed events)
  • Performance programs
  • Audio and visual recording fees
  • Special equipment rental fees
  • Box Office service fees
  • Use of the Jordan Concert Organ and its rental are provided by separate contract

Studio Theatre

Date Availability: Due to Studio Theatre being a primary teaching facility for the Schwob School of Music, availability for rental is primarily on weekends.

The Studio Theatre is a multi-use hall available in various configurations. Fees apply for modification of hall configuration. All Studio Theatre rates are based on proscenium stage configuration. All theatrical sets, lighting, and technical requirements are subject to evaluation and approval by the RiverCenter Technical Director. No construction, painting, chemical or pyrotechnic effects are permitted in the Studio Theatre at any time. The following rates include recital lighting only. Theatrical lighting is available at additional charge $125 per rental period.

  • $500 surcharge for alteration of configuration (set-up and strike with advance notice)
  • Add $125 for cleaning per event

Studio Theatre rentals include: (All users are provided in rental)

  • Use of stage, 166-seat proscenium configuration, recital lighting, sound equipment as established in the theatre
  • Heat, air conditioning, and water as installed on premises
  • Use of one changing room each for men and women

Studio Theatre rentals do NOT include:
(All users must arrange through RiverCenter as necessary)

  • Technical labor (such as stagehands, spotlight operators, projectionists, electricians, sound operators, etc.)
  • Theatrical lighting ($125 surcharge)
  • Event security staff – production, custodial and house (determined by management)
  • Optional lecture podium, microphones
  • Chairs and Music stands
  • Liability insurance (required by all users)
  • Dramatic and music license fees
